New! - A monthly update - 21 February'10
It's nearly a month since the last update, so it must be time for a recap! So what's happened? Well the first team have played three games, losing two 1-2 to Knaphill and CB Hounslow, but they've struck back in the most recent game with a 2-1 win over Warlingham. All this sees the Hammers in 5th place, but with games in hand and 3rd place within reach.
Next up is a Surrey County FA Premier Cup semi-final against Anvil Lane tenants Mole Valley SCR on Tuesday 23rd.
Game played shocker - 24 January'10
A full five weeks after their last game, the Cobham youngsters took to the pitch at Eversley hoping that any rustiness would be quickly brushed off. Trouble was they were 2 goals down at half-time! Thankfully, the team talk in the job and saw Cobham score 3 in 5 minutes to take the lead. The home side pulled level before the Hammers took the lead again with 20 minutes to go. Unfortuantely Eversley pushed forward and managed to get the equaliser before getting a man sent off leaving the final score 4-4. With most of the other results going their way, the top of division 1 is as tight as ever with Cobham sitting 5th with a few games in hand.
The reserves continued their recent run of form following up their 6-2 win over Godalming Town with a 2-2 with Horley Town. Trip to Molsey next on 26th January.
The first team's now have a week off before Knaphill come to town on 30th.
In the meantime.... - 16 January'10

Cobham 1 v 0 Staines Lammas - 14 December'09
Just the one goal was enough for Cobham to make it five wins on the bounce on Saturday as they negotiated the tricky challenge of Staines Lammas at Anvil Lane on Saturday. In what was a hard-fought match on a chilly day neither side really created any clear cut chances as both sides canceled each other out. Perhaps rather fortuitously Cobham's goal came after a ball forward to the edge of the penalty area was challenged for in the air by a visiting defender, the Staines 'keeper and Carl Burne, only for the two Lammas players to take each-other out and leave Ricardo Ramsey with a simple finish. The Hammers could have extended their lead as Lammas pushed forward late in the game but in the end one goal was enough.
On Thursday evening, the youth team notched a point at home to Colliers Wood. They face Chertsey Town on the 16th next.
The Chix were back in action on Sunday and probably hope they don't have to play the Wimbledon Town women again after succumbing to their second defeat against the same opposition, their only two losses of the season so far. Abbey Ranges are up next.
The first team's now have a week off before travelling to Knaphill on 19th for another tough fixture.
Surrey Cup Success - 10 December'09
Cobham reached the quarter-finals of the Surrey FA Saturday Premier Cup on Wednesday after beating Surrey Amateur League 3rd division side Merton 4-1 at Anvil Lane. The goals were scored by Ricardo Ramsey x 3 and the other by Scott Day. They now face Worcester Park in the next round to be played in January (16th is the date noted at the moment).
The reserve's trip to Raynes Park Vale on the same night was postponed.
The first team's next game looks to continue their assault at the top of the table with a tough home fixture against Staines Lammas on Saturday. Lammas won the league and cup double last year and are on an impressive unbeaten run having played some of the league's promotion chasing teams recently which should test Cobham's promotion credentials.
