Match Report - Youth Team
Cobham 3 v 2 Woking, League, March 6th 2008
Report by Nigel Rousell.
A superb all round performance saw the youth team turn in a display that has been on the cards for some time. Some fine build up play down the left resulted in the ball being rolled into Nick Hughes who from 35 yards let fly with his shot being deflected to Shane Rideout who knocked home from 18 yards. A while later Cobham had a penalty as Michael Hicks was brought down in the box but Rideout's penalty was well saved by the Woking 'keeper. A fine one handed save by Chris Rousell in the Cobham goal on the stroke of half time sent in the home side 1-0 up. Woking drew level shortly after the restart with a well taken goal. But back came the youth side with Hicks giving the team s a 2-1 lead. However, from the restart Woking equalized. With 10 minutes to go, a corner found Rideout who volleyed home from the edge of the 18 yard box to make the game finish 3-2 to Cobham, who leap over Woking to go into second place.
