Match Report
Cobham 0 v 2 Horley Town, League, January 29th 2008
Report by Nigel Rousell.
Two goals either side of Half Time saw Horley Town take all the points from Anvil Road on Tuesday Night
Fielding an unchanged side from Saturday's match against Cove, it was a hard working Cobham side that took early control of the midfield battle but neither side were able to deliver the final ball, both seemingly happy to play long balls from deep without really troubling each other. This was until on 39 mins a long ball from the Horley goal-keeper put Cobham's Ashley Reeves under pressure. He was out muscled by the Horley player who lobbed the advancing Nick McGregor to put the visiting side into the break with a one-nil lead.
Cobham emerged for the second half with the speedy Christian Gonzalez replacing Rob Anderson.
Six Minutes into the half and after some good pressure from Cobham, Horley Town broke out of defence and played a quick ball up to the edge of Cobham's penalty area. It again was not cleared and in the resulting scramble Martin Dynan was adjudged to have bought down a Horley Town forward with the official awarding a penalty. This was duly converted. Despite the efforts of both teams, neither side managed to trouble the keepers with Andrew Charles going closest for Cobham.
